The Brushstroke Blueprint™
Pretty Flowers Don’t Have to Be Complicated
I Promise.
After 30+ years of self-taught painting , I've learned a little secret:
Beautiful flowers are built from surprisingly simple brushstrokes.
The Brushstroke Blueprint™ is where I'm sharing those strokes with you—and showing you how to turn them into petals, flowers, leaves, greenery and more.
Start with a few strokes.
Turn them into petals.
Put those petals together.
Hey... you painted a flower.
Then change those same strokes. Curve them. Layer them. Combine them in different ways.
And suddenly that handful of brushstrokes can take you a whole lot further than you thought.
That's the Blueprint.

A Few Simple Strokes. So Many Flowers.
Here's the fun part...
You don't need a completely new set of skills every time you want to paint a different flower.
The same simple brushstrokes show up again and again.
A comma stroke can become a petal.
Change the curve and it becomes something different.
Put a couple together and you've got a wider petal.
Layer them and suddenly you're building an entirely different flower.
The more comfortable you become with those simple movements, the more possibilities you start to see.
Learn the strokes. Play with them. Then see where your brush can take them.

Want to Know My Secret?
I've been painting for more than 30 years, mostly self-taught.
Which means I've spent a LOT of those years playing with brushes, figuring things out, making mistakes, trying something different... and probably ruining a few perfectly good flowers along the way. 😂
But somewhere in all that painting, I started noticing something.
I was using the same simple brush movements over and over again.
Different flower. Different shape. Different look. But underneath it all were the same familiar strokes—changed, curved, layered and combined in different ways.Once I saw that connection, it changed the way I painted flowers.
That's my little secret. And now I'm sharing it with you.
The Brushstroke Blueprint™ takes what I've learned through more than 30 years of painting and breaks it down into something simple and repeatable that you can actually use.
Not a bunch of complicated rules.
Not a “right” way to paint a flower.
Just the strokes, the movements and the little tricks I've learned along the way...so you can start painting some pretty flowers of your own.
Watch It. Try It. Paint It.
Sometimes you just need to see the brush move.
That's why I've included video demonstrations throughout the Brushstroke Blueprint™.You can watch how I load and tip my brush, control the pressure, make each stroke and then use those strokes to build flowers.
Pause me. Replay me. Paint along with me.
Nobody's rushing you.
And nobody's grading your petals.

What You'll Learn
We'll start with a round brush and work through the simple brush movements I use again and again in my own floral painting.
Inside the Brushstroke Blueprint™, we'll play with:
- How pressure changes the shape of your brushstroke
- The push, pull, pressure, twist and release of a round brush
- Loading and tipping your brush with color
- The Comma Stroke family
- C Strokes
- S Strokes
- Ovals
- Fine lines and spirals
- Dots, dashes and little details
- Greenery and leaves
- How to recognize these strokes inside different flowers
- How to change, combine and layer them to create new shapes
- How to take those shapes and build flowers
You'll also have printable practice pages so you can work right alongside me.
And Yes... We Paint Flowers!
We're not learning all those brushstrokes just to admire them on a practice page.
You'll put them to work painting:
Simple Daisy
A great place to begin—and proof that a few simple strokes really can become something pretty.
Side-View Daisy
Take what you've already learned, change the angle and you've got a completely different view.
Double-Petal Daisy
Layer those familiar strokes to create a fuller, more dimensional flower.
Cosmos
Combine and widen your strokes to create those beautiful, loose petals.
Ranunculus
Put your C strokes to work, building from the center outward to create layer after layer of petals.
Greenery & Leaves
Because our flowers need a few friends. 🌿
And the videos are right there whenever you need to see the brush actually do the thing.
But Those Are Just the Beginning.
Once you know the strokes, I want you to start wondering...
“What else can I do with these?”
So I've included suggestions for 60+ additional flowers, leaves and greenery you can explore using the same stroke families you're learning inside the Blueprint.
They're not 60 more tutorials you have to follow.
They're 60+ ideas for where you can take what you've learned.
Because eventually I want you to look at a flower and think:
I know that shape.
I know that stroke.
Hey... I think I can paint that.
Then We Put It All Together.
We Build a Bouquet
You've practiced the strokes.
You've painted the flowers.
You've added your leaves and greenery.
Now let's take everything you've learned and make something beautiful with it.
Your final Blueprint project is Build a Bouquet, where you'll combine the flowers and greenery you've learned into a finished floral arrangement.
This is where all those individual little movements start working together.
And the best part?
You built it.
Brushstroke by brushstroke.
Flower by flower.
